Who we are
Boreke Gas is a brand of Renisto Chemicals (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2012/207786/07), 96 Marina Street, Nooitgedacht, Mogale City, Gauteng, South Africa. We sell and deliver LP gas, and we take orders through WhatsApp on +27 71 100 8505 and through our website, borekegas.co.za.
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you order from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
- Your WhatsApp details: your phone number and the profile name you use on WhatsApp.
- Your messages: what you send us on WhatsApp, including the buttons you tap. If you send a voice note, it may be converted to text so we can read it.
- Your delivery address: the address you type or the location pin you share, and the distance from our depot that we work out from it.
- Your orders: the cylinders you order, prices, delivery fees, order references and order status.
- Payment information: your order reference and confirmation that you have paid by EFT. We do not collect or store bank card details.
- Delivery information: delivery status and, where used, the vehicle tracking link sent to you.
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you visit it, standard technical information (such as your IP address) is processed by our hosting and font providers so the page can load.
Why we use it
- To take your order, confirm the price and delivery fee, and deliver your gas to the right place.
- To match your payment to your order and tell you when it is on its way and delivered.
- To answer your questions and hand your chat to a person when you ask for one.
- To respond quickly to safety reports, such as a gas leak.
- To keep business and tax records, as the law requires.
We use your information only for these purposes. We do not sell your information, and we do not send you marketing messages unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job for us:
- Meta (WhatsApp): carries our messages with you.
- Anthropic: an AI service that helps our assistant understand and answer your questions.
- Supabase, Railway and Vercel: host our ordering system, database and websites.
- Cartrack: manages our delivery vehicles and may send you a tracking link by SMS.
- Xero: our accounting system, for invoices and payment records.
- OpenRouteService and OpenStreetMap: turn addresses and location pins into map positions and driving distances.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Information stored outside South Africa
Some of these services store or process information outside South Africa, including in the European Union and the United States. We use reputable providers that protect personal information to standards comparable to POPIA, as POPIA requires for cross-border transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep order, payment and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally five years). We keep chat messages and delivery addresses for as long as we need them to serve you, and then delete them. Unpaid orders are cancelled automatically after 24 hours.
How we protect it
Access to our ordering system is limited to our staff and requires a login. Information is sent over encrypted connections, and passwords and access keys are stored securely. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe and will tell you and the Information Regulator if a breach affects you.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
- object to how we use it.
Email customer.service@renistochemicals.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not happy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: inforegulator.org.za.
Deleting your data
To ask us to delete the information we hold about you, either:
- send "Delete my data" to us on WhatsApp at +27 71 100 8505, or
- email customer.service@renistochemicals.co.za with the subject "Delete my data" and the phone number you order from.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it took effect at the top.
